Homebody
Soft Systems presents Homebody, a group show featuring painting, drawing, sculpture, video, and performance.
Drawing inspiration from a network of artists and friends, I extended invitations to fellow creatives to contribute to the show. Homebody explores what it means to have a home when one's life is characterized by impermanence. The exhibition poses questions about the essence of home and belonging, especially in a world where renting and mobility are predominant for many. It reflects on the absence of a fixed physical space that holds memories, the longing for roots, and the implications of this on one's identity.
The show encourages introspection and dialogue about the ever-evolving nature of "home" in the contemporary world. Through this exhibition, the gallery invites visitors to contemplate their relationship with the concept of home and how it shapes their lives. - M. Martinez
