Printed Ephemera

IMG_4629.JPG

TIME; untimed is a 16-page text by olivier that drifts through a sequence of fractured memories. Phrases loop, skip, and scatter. Non-linear pages shift like unstable coordinates, each arrangement a disjointed map of thoughts. Embedded throughout are recursive images, depictions of watches, wings, and arms, alongside René Magritte’s Time Transfixed, Rick Moranis from Spaceballs, and Lichtenstein’s dagger motif. Beneath the surface, philosophical and literary themes emerge, drawing from object-oriented ontology, Selves à Deux, the works of Jorge Luis Borges, Emil Cioran, and Mark Fisher’s Ghosts of My Life, James Gleick’s Time Travel: A History, and Theresa Hak Kyung Cha’s Dictee. Presented for the exhibition Strange Mathematics as a performance, it is printed on yellowed, worn pink construction paper with a matte, slightly rough texture. Designed to be non-linear, it has no specific order and is meant to be read in any sequence.
